(Doc ID 2406352.1)

Last updated on JUNE 03, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The canonical URL includes the category ID twice in its link, causing incorrect canonical URLs that yield 404 errors if accessed.

For example:
Go to https://www.xxxx.com/category/137  open view page source code, search for "canonical". A link will be shown like this below, which is not a valid one for the crawlers.
https://www.xxxx.com/category/137/137, notice that the category ID is repeated.

Because of this issue, search engines are pointing to nonexistent pages, causing 404 errors for shoppers attempting to find products and the site.
