Symptoms

Rate Start Date not accounting for Waiting Period and has incorrect Start Date

We noticed that those plan types for which we have waiting periods defined along with a coverage and rate start date rule of "First of Month on or after event" are not having the correct Rate Start Dates but have the correct Coverage Start Date even though both the Coverage Start and Rate start have the same rule of "First of month on or after event date".

For eg: For an event that occurs on 4/22/2018 (Legal Employer Change), if a plan type has a waiting period of 3 months from date of hire (LE Change makes the hire date change as well, so in this case the Hire Date is 4/22/2018, we expect both the coverage and rate to start on 8/1/2018.

We are seeing the coverage start correctly on 8/1/2018 but the rate starts on 5/1/2018 instead and incorrectly takes a deduction for that plan type in payroll for that pay period.
