Last updated on NOVEMBER 29, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A to N/A [Release 1.0]
Oracle Linux Cloud Service - Version Oracle Linux 5.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Linux x86

Goal

Sometimes in OCI, it is not possible to login to the instance as opc user as the password is expired and its not accepting the new password while changing. It is also possible that the customer forgot the password of the users.

This Document provides a method to reset the password of opc user.

There is already a simple method to achieve this goal using OCI serial console and is documented in

https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/Compute/References/serialconsole.htm

This document provides an alternate method to achieve the same if there is any problem in the above mentioned serial console method.
