Need To Default Custom LOV Field To Different Values Based On The Type Of Record Synced From Outlook (Doc ID 2410678.1)

We have a custom LOV field. We need to default it to certain value (which user can change while email sync) when an email is synced from Outlook and we want to default it as blank when the record synced is a Task or Appointment. We cannot add a default value expression to LOV from OSC application so how can we achieve it ?
