Error: "The report cannot be rendered because of an error" When Running a Custom Report in BI Publisher (Doc ID 2411280.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to run custom reports in Oracle BI Publisher in an Oracle-hosted Unifier Cloud environment, the following error is received and the report does not run:

The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log into the Oracle Cloud Unifier environment.
  2. From the Primavera Cloud Portal page click "Oracle BIP" > Catalog > Folders > Shared Folders > Reports Folder > Unifier
  3. Select a report and click Open.
  4. View the reported error.
  5. A second check can be made by navigating to Home > Create > Report; view error "Failed to save the report".
