Not Required to Move Direct Reports with a Resignation

When the manager of an employee who has direct reports submits a termination for that employee, they are required to reassign the direct reports of the employee to a new manager as part of the termination process. You cannot even submit the termination without selecting a new manager, which is good because then you don't have employees reporting to inactive managers.

However, when an employee who has direct reports submits their own resignation, they are not required to reassign their direct reports as part of the process. In fact, their direct reports do not even display on the resignation page.

This is a gap in the process, and results in employees showing as reporting to inactive/termed managers.

Has this already been identified as an issue, and is something being worked on for a later release?
