Cannot Change Partner Contact Email Address - Duplicate Identified

On : 220.127.116.11.0 version, Accounts, Contacts, Households
Cannot change Partner Contact email address - duplicate identified
We are trying to change one of our Partner Contact's email address, but it is being flagged as a duplicate.
We cannot find a Contact with a duplicate email address in the UI, and therefore can't change it, and therefore can't add the correct email address to the aforementioned user.
Please advise on what we do here?
