Fusion Global HR: System Person Type Is Different from Person User Entity (UE) and Assignment UE

Goal
An issue occurred on the integration when trying to pull the employees and contractors in the system. Only the active employees are pulled.
With the user entity (UE) PER_EXT_SEC_PERSON_UE as Root Data Group in the extract and filtered through the System Person Type of EMP and CWK, only the active employees are pulled.
Further checking revealed the below scenarios:
1. Using the query for PER_EXT_SEC_PERSON_UE, the System Person Type for an employee was retrieved, and it showed as EX_EMP.
2. Using the Query for PER_EXT_SEC_ASSIGNMENT_IE, the System Person Type for an employee was retrieved, and it showed as EMP.
With the above scenarios, what are the differences? The Assignment UE shows EMP as the system person type while the Person UE shows as EX_EMP.
