Error 'Unifier cannot connect to AutoVue server. You may be missing the required certificate' in Chrome When Attempting to Open a File (Doc ID 2419811.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to open a file from Unifier Document Manager running in the Chrome browser, using AutoVue file viewer, the following error occurs.

Unifier cannot connect to AutoVue server. You may be missing the required certificate. To attain the certificate and instructions go to View Help Menu in Unifier and click Download Plugins.

In addition, the following error can be captured in the Java Console:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Install a new certificate.
  2. Open Unifier in a Chrome browser window.
  3. Open a file with AutoVue file viewer.
  4. Note the reported error.
