Adjusting Depreciation Reserve in Tax book ends in error: You Cannot Change The Reserve Because The Original Asset Distribution Was Changed (Doc ID 2424011.1)

As per note 'Why are the YTD Depreciation and Depreciation Reserve Fields Grayed Out When Adjusting Assets? (Doc ID 2208818.1)', it is possible to adjust the YTD Depreciation and Depreciation Reserve Fields fields when the asset addition has been done in the current open period.

However, when attempting to change the YTD depreciation and Depreciation Reserve in the current open period in a tax book, the following error occurs.

You cannot change the reserve because the original asset distribution at the time of addition was changed.
The Cost and rules change transaction XXXXXXXXXXXXX failed for asset number ZZZZ.
The number of records processed is 0.
The number of records that failed is 1.
User-Defined Exception

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to Assets page
2. Go to Tasks -> Adjust assets
3. Search for an asset
4. Click on the asset line and press the button Change Financial Details
5. Edit the YTD Depreciation and Depreciation Reserve fields and click submit
6. Process "Post online asset transactions" will initiate in Schedule Process and end in the error indicated above.
