Symptoms

When attempting to create a connection from Data Visualization Desktop (DVD) to your Primavera Analytics cloud environment which is configured with SAML authentication (reference, Enabling Federated Identity Single Sign-On (SSO) Through SAML 2.0 For Primavera Products Hosted In Oracle Cloud (Doc ID 2087067.1)) , the following error occurs:

ERROR

Failed to save the connection. Invalid username / password.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Open Oracle Data Visualization Desktop
  2. Click Create > Connection > Oracle Application
  3. Fill in required fields for connecting to your Analytics cloud offering
  4. Click Save
  5. Note the failure which occurs
