How to Return Finished Goods? (Doc ID 2429216.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 22, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Warehouse Management Enterprise Edition Cloud Service - Version 9.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Need the ability to configure Finished Goods returns.

There are two types of returns being used:

Return from Customer

- and -

Return of Product to Finished Goods Warehouse

due to last minute reasons (like FG low temperature, etc.)

In Returns from Customers there can be by boxes, pallets or full return.  The first step in this return will be in the ERP (JD Edwards) and from there will be sent to WMS Cloud the information of the products returned through the "Inbound Shipment" interface where it is required to receive them through scanning them.  When scanning, it is required that the system recognizes them and from the beginning, recovering from the WMS the complete information of the LPN, such as production date, expiration date, weight, etc.

An alternative solution was that we configure the Warehouse parameter "REUSABLE_TOTES = yes" that allows us to keep the LPN number + 4 folded digits (Oracle modification); this configuration does not solve completely since it omits to keep the original information that it brought when being shipped, as those of the box like Attributes, weight, pieces etc.

The best solution is to be able to carry out the return process by keeping the information from the original labels of same product.

Is there such an option in WMS for Finished Goods Returns processes?
