How to remove dependent from previos coverage after being converted to an EE (Doc ID 2434736.1)

Employee enrolled his dependent , in benefits. Dependent record was then converted to an employee record.

Dependent that is now an employee  is eligible for benefits effective July 1. When his record converted from a contact to an EE, his coverage remained in tact under new record. 
However, we are unable to remove him from previous coverage. 

 Attempted to default all enrollments, this did NOT work.

How to term contact record under the EE when the contact has been converted to an employee record?
