After Migration from MCS to AMCe, API Call Using OAuth Fails with HTTP 401 Error (Doc ID 2435975.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 20, 2018

Applies to:

Mobile Cloud Enterprise - Version 17.4.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When trying to call an endpoint in the custom API that handles the location management, a 401 error message is returned. This happens not only while trying to call it from custom code, but also when called from Postman. The call does not get through in the console of the backend that is being called. The documentation is specifying that the Mobile_System role has to be assigned, but this role does not exist anymore. The endpoints are being called with the scope urn:opc:idm:__myscopes__ in the OAuth token.

Migration was done from Oracle Mobile Cloud Service (where the code was working) to Autonomous Mobile Cloud Service Enterprise. Since the migration the code no longer works.
