'Alert: Error' When Attempting to Send 'Simple-Type' Business Process Records to Next Step in the Workflow Using New User Interface (Doc ID 2446335.1)

Users are unable to create "Service Request" (Simple-type) BP records when the "New User Interface" is enabled.

Users are able to submit the records when the "New User Interface" is disabled.

Alert: Error


The following exception can be seen be seen in the Unifier.log file:

'Exception in getShellPickerModeljava.lang.NullPointerException'

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log into the environment
  2. Navigate to the location of the BP Log
  3. Enable "New User Interface"
  4. Click on the "+Create" button
  5. Enter data into mandatory fields
  6. Click "Submit"
  7. Verify "Error" prompt is displayed
  8. Disable "New User Interface"
  9. Click on "+Create" button
  10. Enter data into mandatory fields
  11. Click "Submit"
  12. Verify the record is able to be submitted
