How To Veto An Operation In a Groovy Script (Doc ID 2455614.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 04, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service - Version 18.01.42 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When reading the following documentation:

addValidationError(java.lang.Integer bgColor, java.lang.String tooltip, boolean isValid)

Sets the background color and tooltip for this data cell, and vetos the operation during which this validation error is added if isValid is false.

We might assume it will set the background color and tooltip for this data cell… And just NOT do the operation, if it is FALSE. Instead, false does NOTHING at all.

SAMPLE USE CASE

If a cell expense is greater than 30% of revenue, it would set the color as yellow and a tooltip of a warning. If it is over 50%, it would set it to red with a tooltip. I thought by changing the Boolean value from false to true (isValid), it would still apply the background color and tooltip, but it does nothing.
