IB Sorting: LPN111 is cancelled but receives error "LPN Already exists" during Inbound Sorting.

LPN111 is assigned to a Sort zone location SORT-01-01-01. However, this LPN was cancelled/modified to 0.

When trying to sort more LPNs into the sort location, the RF tells errors with "LPN already exists."

IBLPNs screens shows it is cancelled.

How can this be freed up so that the Sort location SORT-01-01-01 can be used other LPNs.

LPN already exists

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create an IBLPN LPN111
2. Assigned into an Inbound (IB) Sort Location
3. Cycle Count the LPN into a Location (Active / Reserve)
4. Using Cycle Count screen RF-Text: Cycle Cnt {locn}
5. In the screen transaction the LPN was located into the new cycle counted location.
6. LPN remains visible and attached to the IB Sorting Location in the UI.
7. Cycle counted out the LPN, which went into Lost status
8. LPN remains visible in the IB Sort Screen and it is still assigned to that location.

I believe that this flow can be tricky but it is feasible as an LPN can be assigned to an IB Sort Location but physically can be moved to a (Reserve/Active) Location and later cycle counted, which can mark the LPN as Cancelled or Lost.
