Purpose
Oracle typically recommends for your EPM Cloud Service(s) to be running with latest binaries - the current monthly patch update. However, if you encounter any regressions/show stoppers in your Test instance after the deployment of a new monthly patch update and you want to delay the upgrade of the monthly patch update to your Production instance, there are two self-service options available beginning with the December 2020 (20.12) Patch Update that allow you to postpone updates for two patch cycles (two consecutive months); updated with February 2024 (24.02), you can now postpone updates for three patch cycles (three consecutive months):
- A new EPM Automate command: skipUpdate
- A new REST API: skip updates
In the event you cannot use the self-service options or you require postponement beyond the two month postponement limit, open a Service Request (SR) by the Wednesday prior to the third Friday of month to request postponement.
