3D Scoring Parameters for Logic Configuration (Doc ID 2463596.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management Cloud Service - Version 18 and later
Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.4.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

As per documentation:

CONSIDER SCORING LOGIC IN 3D PLACEMENT - This parameter is used to turn on/off the 3D scoring mechanism in 3D Load Configuration Container Optimization Algorithm.

The default is false.

The following parameters are not considered when this parameter is true:

EMPTY SPACE SORT CRITERIA

EVALUATION DEPTH

ITEM SORT CRITERIA

LOAD PLACEMENT ITERATION CRITERIA

However that is not correct. Changing logic parameter EMPTY SPACE SORT CRITERIA can give different results when CONSIDER SCORING LOGIC IN 3D PLACEMENT = TRUE

Following situations have been observed:

1: Packing without scoring (normal packing which honors EMPTY SPACE SORT CRITERIA, EVALUATION DEPTH)
2: Packing with scoring evaluation mechanism (with parameter EMPTY SPACE SORT CRITERIA, EVALUATION DEPTH)

Then return the better solution between those points 1 and 2.
