Unable to Connect To An OCI Instance Using An Active Directory User Via SSH. (Doc ID 2467680.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.0 to Oracle Linux 7.6 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [4.14.35] [Release OL6 to OL7U6]
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

Unable to log in to a Linux  OCI instance via SSH using an AD user, this works while using local users, however, after log in using local user, the authentication to the AD works as required, the issue is only seen while using the AD user to connect via SSH.

Once logged in on the server using a local user, the below command can be run and this gets authenticated.

Having said this, it had been evidenced that only the SSH connection is failing while using any AD user.

Changes

This was a new installation and this was not working before.
