Goal

Midpoint changes when range is assigned and new salary is proposed

When proposing a new salary, the midpoint value changes. As a range has been defined, we are wondering why the midpoint is changing?

This is affecting out compa-ratio calculation as the new midpoint is being used for the calculation.
