In Financial Consolidation & Close Cloud Service (FCCS), When Importing Metadata With Multiple Attributes, They Import As A Single String Instead Of Individual Parameters (Doc ID 2480671.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service - Version 18.06.55 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You need to modify one or more metadata members, including the editing/adding of user-defined attributes (UDAs).

As an example, the member should have three attributes added/modified -- Color=Blue, Season=Winter, Substance=Glass.

You carry out the following steps:

1. Modify and save the text file containing the desired changes.  Your file contains the UDA information in a string such as "...<none>|<none>|Color:Blue, Season:Winter, Substance:Glass||currency|dynamic...".
2. In the FCCS UI, go to Overview > Dimensions tab.
3. Click Import > Create.
4. Click Browse (next to Account, beneath the Import File column header) and select your file.
5. For File Type, click Other, then enter a character as the delimiter.  For this example, we'll use the pipe character (|).
6. Click Import.

The import completes successfully, but when you go to the Dimensions card (under Create & Manage) and view the UDAs for the modified Account member, they display as a single UDA:

   Color:Blue, Season:Winter, Substance:Glass

Instead of the expected:

   Color:Blue
   Season:Winter
   Substance:Glass
