[OCI BM LBaaS] Load Balancer Fails to Connect when Cookie-Based Persistence is Configured with Multiple Backend Sets, Virtual Hosts
(Doc ID 2485455.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 26, 2019
Applies to:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Attempts to log in to applications get immediately signed out when more than one PIA is booted.
The applications are set up in a load balanced fashion of 3 PIAs plus 3 App servers as Virtual Hosts with multiple Backend Sets, using OCI Load Balancer (LB) with a Round Robin policy and cookie-based persistence.
If more than one PIA is booted, i.e. multiple Backend Sets are online, every login attempt to the application goes straight to the sign out page immediately.
Login succeeds when only one PIA at a time is booted. All PIAs allow logins individually in this way, with both direct connections and connecting via the LB.
