OdiInvokeRESTfulService Calling SaaS REST API Is Not Returning Correct Error Message (Doc ID 2491814.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle 12c Studio, when attempting to execute a REST request to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) with the OdiInvokeRESTfulService tool, the error message returned is not very clear:

ODI-30163: REST tool invocation failed with response code : 400 URL : https://<HOSTNAME>:<PORT>/REST/Query/Path/Example

Making the same call in a third-party utility like SoapUI results in a more detailed error message.
