Last updated on JUNE 16, 2022

Applies to:

Data Integration Platform Cloud - Version 18.4.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This knowledge article reflects updated product names. Data Integration Platform Cloud (DIPC) was formerly known as Autonomous Data Integration Platform Cloud (ADIPC). Data Integration Platform Cloud Classic (DIPC Classic or DIPC-C) was formerly known as Data Integration Platform Cloud (DIPC). Please see KM <document 2493395.1> for the full list of recently renamed PaaS services.

After creating a new DIPC (on OCI) 18.4.3 instance and a "SQL Server (OGG)" Remote Agent, a sync job can connect successfully to target servers and fetch the table metadata, however when trying to fetch the data from the table in the web interface, the following error occurs:

{"severity":"ERROR","errorCode":"DIPC-PRFL-1008","msg":"Unable to connect to the database. IO Error: Unknown host specified ","remedy":"Check the connection details for the data entity. See the the connection URL, username and password.","userDismiss":"true","exception":null}

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to the Cloud Web interface
  2. Navigate to Catalog and the sync job and test connection: Successful
  3. Refresh data entries on the sync job: Successful
  4. Refresh data profile on data table results in the error.
