Building Essbase Cube using Application Workbook Generates Unexpected Japanese Member and Alias Names (Doc ID 2495090.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2020

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Creating/Updating Cubes using an Application workbook generates unexpected Japanese member or alias names. If an alias or a member in the workbook contains Japanese Kanji chars, OAC-Essbase concatenates the Kanji chars and its Furigana in Kata-Kana chars as suffixes at building cube.

The Application Workbook is generated by the feature of 'Export a cube to an Application Workbook' and then manually typed Japanese Kanji chars as a member or an alias name on a dimension sheet of the workbook on Microsoft Excel.

The issue is reproduced when the cube is built either OAC-Essbase Web UI import or 'Build Cube' on Cube Designer extension, Oracle Smart View.
