Oracle ADF Desktop Integration (ADFdi) Connection Fail (Doc ID 2497454.1)

Symptoms

   Some users are experiencing a connection Failure when trying to access Oracle from Excel (ADFdi is being used),  following error is observed:

the Business operation, workbook initialization, could not be completed because the attempt to connect to the server failed (ADFDI-00152) The workbook cannot be used, Click Save Report and Provide the report to you administrator.


Steps to reproduce:

1. download a spreadsheet from fusion or open previously downloaded spreadsheet file

2. Start to connect to fusion application from the spreadsheet (connect to  https://<fusion host>/fscmUI/adfdiRemoteServlet)

User will get an error. No login page is displayed

 

NOTE: when federation SSO is on with chooser login page, sometime the chooser login page is displayed, if the user click company Sign in link, the SSO login page is not displayed

Changes

 TLS 1.0, 1.1 for out bound communication is disabled in fusion cloud environment
