Global Human Resources: Unable To Delete Private Email Address because it is same as Work Email address

Symptoms
When attempting to delete the Home/Private email address type, the following error occurs:
"You cannot edit or delete an email type Work Email"
This error is encountered when the Home/Private email address is the same as the Work email address.
STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to My Workforce > Person Management
2. Select a user > Manage Person.
3. Click on Edit Communication details.
4. Delete the Home/Private type email address
