Create Object Workflow for unusual email addresses - "Invalid Email Address" (Doc ID 2505529.1)

Workflow Email

When creating a workflow and trying to enter an email address that is different than the standard email domains (e.g. ”test@dom-ain.com” ) the following error message is received "Invalid Email Address".

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Inside a sandbox, go to Application Composer

2. Navigate to Common Setup --> Object Workflows 

3. Create a new Object Workflow for the Opportunity object

4. In the Email Notification area, press Create button on the right side of the window

5. Edit "To Address" --> Specific email addresses --> and type an email address that is similar to "test@dom-ain.com” (contains special characters after the "@")

6. Click somewhere on the screen and observe that the error message is displayed
