Is it Possible to capture a custom reference number(Batch Number) in the RF Pick function On Outbound Scanning? (Doc ID 2508766.1)

Customer is referring to rf and the pick function(but wherever Batch# is captured, is where user would like to use a custom field to capture the batch # on outbound) ......The current requirement is primarily to capture the batch number on outbound and to have it both available on the order record and to print on the packing slip.. question is can we use a custom field and if that can be included in both scanning/capture on outbound and printing of the packing slip. Customer needs to use this field to print what's captured on the packing slip...not for validation...more so just that a field is populated and available for reporting.

In the past, we had been told we couldn't, but that was when the request to use the batch # field and to have validation on it...not just to capture it to an unused field...we had been told we could do it during the pack function, but not the pick...we currently only use pick and pack is automated...we don't want to have to add the pack function to our outbound process if we don't have to.


Is it possible to scan or capture a custom reference number(Batch Nbr) in the RF Pick function on Outbound scanning?
