Reverse Termination Error - The effective dates on this new element entry are invalid. This entry causes an overlap with entry for the same element Gratuity (PAY-1636198) (Doc ID 2528658.1)

Last updated on MARCH 01, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Global Payroll Cloud Service - Version 11.13.19.01.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.13.18.10.0 version, Global Payroll

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Trying to reverse terminate several employees, an error message is encountered
Error is received because the admin deleted the End of Service calculation card manually after reversing the termination.
(The Employee Gratuity Calculation Card now has a single calculation card approach, which means error messages will no longer be generated, and there is no requirement to delete the calculation card.)

ERROR
------------------
The effective dates on this new element entry are invalid. This entry causes an overlap with entry for the same element Gratuity. (PAY-1636198)

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
!The Employee Gratuity Calculation Card now has a single calculation card approach, which means error messages will no longer be generated, and there is no requirement to delete the calculation card.
The calculation card will be created on first termination, as it is currently. If the termination is reversed, the calculation card will remain, as of the effective date it was originally created.
If the termination date is corrected to a future date, there will be no change to the effective date of the calculation card. However, if the termination date is corrected to an earlier date, then the effective date of the calculation card will be updated to the new date.
If an employee is rehired and is subsequently terminated again, the same calculation card will be reused.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. trying to reverse terminate several employees,
2. End of service calculation card is still available. (this is happening for all employees with reverse the termination);
3. Admin deleted the EOS calculation card manually after reversing the termination as per the old practice;
4. element entry overlap error is received.
