Expression Is Valid But Performance Measure Becomes Invalid Once the Long Expression Is Assigned (Doc ID 2533642.1)

Symptoms

Expression is valid but the performance measure becomes invalid once the expression is assigned.
This is a large string expression with 6700+ characters with DECODE values.
If used any other expression on the performance measure, then the performance measure becomes invalid.



STEPS

1. Create expression with large DECODE on the customer name. The expression is valid.
    Expression text like :   DECODE ( Credit.Partner Name, 'National Management Association', 'NMA', 'Air Regional Association', 'ARA' ... etc ...  , 'Other')
2. Create a performance measure with 4 dimensional rate table. One of the input is this customer name expression.
3. The measure is invalid if used this long expression.
