Unable To Create Account Using Specified Account Number In The Rest API Call

On : 220.127.116.11.0 version, Subscriber Management
Tried invoking RestAPI "CreateCustomer" and passing account_number in the input.
In the response, Observed the account is created without the account number passed in input. The account number is auto-generated by the system.
Question: Please suggest why account is not getting created?
