When Creating New Relationship Between Person And Org Party, A New Usage Is Assigned To Person Party (Doc ID 2550615.1)

Goal

We've created a new custom Relationship Type between Person and Organization. The Person Party was created using the Contact Import Object. The new relationship is being imported between the Person Party and Org Party using the account object. Upon import, a new usage record for Organization Contact is being added to the Person Party, even though the Relationship Causes Assignment has been unchecked on the ORG_CONTACT usage.

Why is the new usage automatically being added and is there an alternative way to create the new relationship between the person party and org party?
