Symptoms
There is one facility for several child companies, and Company A is the parent company.
In Company B the error, "Invalid barcode for type Serial Number" is being displayed.
Resulting in not being able to receive Serial Numbers for Company B.
Parent Company A has the Barcode Type for Serial Number set to 12.
Child Company B has the Barcode Type for Serial Number set to 5.
ERROR

Invalid barcode for type Serial Number.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a Serial Number tracked Item (this item was assigned to the Parent Company and Child Company B).
2. Create an IB Shipment for the item.
3. Attempt to receive the item, in Child Company B SN 11111.
4. Error was displayed.
