Goal

Automatic Receipt Number should be generated with Alpha-numeric sequence. 

Users are expecting Receipt should be classified according to the Inventory Organization.   Specified receipt number notation(Alpha-Numeric).

The business requirement is for the Alphanumeric receipt which should be automatically generated for different BU for smooth process flow.

Currently the standard Oracle suggest with two options for the receiving during the receipt of any item:

  1. Automatic--Only Numeric, NO Alphanumeric

  2. Manual--With Numeric &  Alphanumeric.

Oracle does not allow Automatic Receipt Number to be alphanumeric.  How this can be achieved?

 

Steps to set up your receipt number receiving parameters:
In the Setup and Maintenance work area, use the Manage Receiving Parameters task:
    Offering: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management
    Functional Area: Receiving
    Task: Manage Receiving Parameters
