Purpose
Note: Oracle Big Data Cloud (BDC) == BDCS-CE. For the purposes of this document, we will refer to BDCS-CE or BDC as ‘Oracle Big Data Cloud (BDC)’ throughout this document.
Learn about the benefits of migrating your existing Oracle Big Data Cloud (BDC) to Cloudera on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) IaaS, as well as walking through the migration process.
Scope
Migrating from Big Data Cloud to Cloudera on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure means moving from a managed service (BDC) to a self-managed (OCI) deployment of Cloudera. This means the customer is responsible for all elements of cluster management, security, configuration, and deployment health. Migrating to OCI is done in several steps:
Export Data from Big Data Cloud
Deploy Cloudera on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Import Data to Cloudera on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
