Symptoms

While viewing a site page in preview mode, everything works fine.  After publishing, the page in live mode fails to render showing an HTTP 500 error with the message:

Error occurred in Converting "..." to java.util.List

The HTTP 500 error is occurring for a "/content/published/api/v1.1/items" request.
