Indexing Stuck, Stalled, Frozen, Hung During ProductCatalogOutputConfig Step (Doc ID 2576699.1)

When an indexing job is kicked off, either through a triggered publish, through an endpoint call on /gsamdin/v1/search/index, or manually from the ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin component in dyn/admin, the job runs for some time and then gets stuck, stalled, frozen, hung on the ProductCatalogOutputConfig step like so:

The process is stuck on the ProductCatalogOutputConfig step and the "successCount" will stop increasing and stay at a certain number and never complete.
