Goal

Order Management Extensions may cause performance issues when creating and/or revising orders. This may have a significant impact on the time taken to save or submit orders, as the impact may be accumulative over a number of extensions.

This note describes an order extension which has been written to include statements to:

  1. Insert - Severe - warning messages into server log files. These messages can be used by support and development to review the time taken to execute code in an order extension.
  2. Update the - Packing Instructions - attribute on the order header.
