Common issues related to Descriptive Fields, Requestor Name, Cost Center Manager attributes using IN, STARTWITH,UPPERCASE strings functions. (Doc ID 2584538.1)

This document describes the usage of string functions with non-required fields in task configurations when Spreadsheet Workflow Configuration is not being used for rule definitions. The following error can be encountered if the correct configuration is not used with Descriptive Flexfields, Requester Name, Cost Center Manager, as well as some other less common attributes using a rule configuration which uses the in, startsWith, contains comparisons or functions like toUppercase.

1.The workflow is rejected with a supervisory error as below :

        Error : The supervisor or job level associated with the approval rule doesn't exist. Change the rule or correct the HCM employee supervisory or job level hierarchy ( FUN -720337)

2.Clicking "more" below the error shows a more detailed error that contains within the message: Business Fault: Null.

        Error : WorkflowServiceEngine request to another component failed. Request operation CallFunctionStateless from default/xxx/xxx to xxx failed with Business Fault: null.
