Error Displayed When Entering Search Criteria For Item On An EFF Attribute Field Created With Datatype = Number (Doc ID 2586158.1)

Symptoms

Following Error message is displayed when entering the Search criteria for item on an EFF Attribute field created with Datatype = Number
Search criteria for item on an EFF Attribute field created with Datatype = Character works fine

ERROR

“No signature of method: static oracle.apps.fnd.applcore.oaext.model.OAEntityImpl.toFlexfieldString() is applicable for argument types: (java.lang.String, null, null) values: [1, null, null] Possible solutions: toFlexfieldString(java.sql.Date), toFlexfieldString(java.math.BigDecimal, java.lang.Integer, java.lang.Integer)”

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Define EFF Attribute Group with two Attributes
2. Assign a Values Set to one Attribute, with Data Type = Number and Validation = Independent
3. Assign a Values Set to another Attribute, with Data Type = Number and Validation = Dependent (on the above Attribute Value Set)
4. Navigate to Manage / Browse Item screen
5. Add the above two EFF Attributes to the Search criteria
6. Select a value in the first Attribute LOV that is associated to the Independent Value Set
Notice the above Error message displayed

BUSINESS IMPACT

Due to this issue, users cannot Search with the EFF Attributes having Value Sets with Datatype = Number
