Oracle Fusion Recruiting Cloud: Troubleshooting: Gray or Inactive Sections Prevent Submitting External Application

Purpose
This document will provide advice to resolve the issue depicted below:
Symptoms:
When completing an application on an external career site, the following occurs:
Specific blocks are not modifiable or able to be updated (they appear in grey);
- For example:
- Degrees (Education)
- Previous Employment (Work Experience)
- Work Requirements (Work Experience)
- Languages
- Licenses and Certifications
After selecting the button to submit the application, a box indicates Submitting job application but never completes
- There is no error, just simply no response from the application
NOTE: For scenarios where the list of values appear grayed-out for a field, refer to the following document: Why Selections in a List-of-Values (LOV) are Grayed-Out.
Potential Causes:
The above symptoms can be a result of one of the following:
- The sections are inactive under Profiles
- The active sections are not subscribed to Recruiting
- Lookup fields within the section are not enabled
- Lookup fields within the section have a past end date (have expired) or have an invalid end date
