BI Subject Area "Sales - CRM Opportunity Sales Stage Snap Shot" End Date (Doc ID 2592142.1)

I am attempting to determine how many days an opportunity was in the last sales stage after it was closed. I am reviewing BI subject area "Sales - CRM Opportunity Sales Stage Snap Shot" and I see the "secondary dates.stage end date" is left with no date for closed opportunities. The field is updated when the stage is changes.
Can you tell me if there is a setting that controls updating this field when an opportunity is closed?
