Last updated on MAY 06, 2022

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An Error is reported when updating a Segment Value set while creating or updating an EFF:

The value set XXXXXX cannot be assigned to the segment XXXXXX. (FND-2641)
In application 10008, descriptive flexfield DOO_FULFILL_LINES_ADD_INFO, and context XXXXXXXXX,
value set XXXXXXX cannot be assigned to segment XXXXXX which uses column ATTRIBUTE_CHAR1.
The assigned value set must have a data type that is compatible with the column data type and its maximum length must be no longer than the column length.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create Value Set XXXXX with Validation Type as TABLE Data Type as Character EGP_SYSTEM_ITEMS_V.
2. Create EFF Segment in Fulfillment Line Information.
3. Add value set to segment.

NOTE: Similar behavior may occur for any Attribute which is defined as being longer than 150 characters.
