Last updated on DECEMBER 21, 2023

Applies to:

Primavera Unifier Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Primavera Unifier - Version 9.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A partner user from Partner Company A created a non-workflow business process record "BP-0001" in a Project/Shell. However, a 2nd Partner User from the same company that has "View Company Records" and "View User Records" permission through the User Group "Group A" is not able to view this record. If the Creator of the record goes to Actions > Permissions, and Adds the Partner User from the same company, then the user will be able to see the record.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The expectation was that Partner Users in the same company can view records created by other users in the same company with just the Permissions granted through User Administration and NOT require adding the user explicitly through the "Permissions" tab in the record.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log into the Unifier environment as User 1 from Company A.
  2. Navigate to the Project/Shell > Upper BP node > BP node > Create non-WF BP record "BP-0001".
  3. Log into the Unifier environment as User 2 from Company A.
  4. Navigate to the Project/Shell > Upper BP node > BP node > There are 0 Items displayed, record BP-0001 is not visible to this user.
  5. Log into the Unifier environment as User 1 from Company A.
  6. Navigate to the Project/Shell > Upper BP node > BP node > Record BP-0001 is visible, highlight it and open it.
  7. Click on Actions > Permissions... > Add > Select User 2 from Company A > Select > Save
  8. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 > User 2 from Company A can now see the record.
  9. In the same shell if the User 2 from Company A permissions are viewed, they have "View Company Records" and "View User Records" permission through the User Group "Group A"

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users from the same Partner Company cannot view a non-WF record created by another user in the same company, even with "View Company Records" and "View User Records" permission, unless the explicitly Add the user to "Permissions" tab for the record.
