How to store back of attachment uploaded in Journal entry UI

We have a requirement to store backup of attachment uploaded in journal.
Is it stored by default at some location with in UCM and can it be retried by accessing the content server? If yes, how to do that? We are not able to find the file by just searching the document in content server.
