Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Logging into BPM Worklist using a DNS hostname entry in the URL fails with Invalid ID or password. Please try again. Using the IP address in the URL works fine.

Detail

Assuming www.xxx.yyy.zzz is the IP of the load balancer, and mysoahost.mycompany.com has been added as DNS entry for the www.xxx.yyy.zzz IP address :

- nslookup for mysoahost.mycompany.com returns www.xxx.yyy.zzz

This confirms the DNS entry is correct.

- Using the load balancer IP, it is possible to log into BPM Worklist. eg. The following works :-

https://www.xxx.yyy.zzz/integration/worklistapp/faces/login.jspx

- When using the DNS entry in the URL (mysoahost.mycompany.com) it is not possible to log into BPM Worklist. eg. The following fails :-

https://mysoahost.mycompany.com/integration/worklistapp/faces/login.jspx

It is not possible to log in as any user. The reported error is:

Invalid ID or password. Please try again

- Other URLs using mysoahost.mycompany.com, but with a port (ie bypassing the load balancer) seem to work. eg. It is possible to login as the weblogic user into:

https://mysoahost.mycompany.com:7002/console
