Purpose

This document applies only for Gen1 Exadata Cloud at Customer

Oracle highly recommends that you maintain the same DOMU OS version across your Exadata DB system environment. DomU OS (a.k.a DomU Exadata Software). It is recommended to update to the latest version of the cloud tools before performing any patching operations. 

Scope

Process:

 Step 1: Stage DomU OS Image. Oracle Cloud Ops stages DomU OS image to customer environment (New version released by Exadata development typically on a monthly basis) (Oracle responsibility)

Step 2: Apply DomU OS Image. Customer applies DomU OS update to each DomU to keep their Exadata Software version updated (Customer responsibility)

  3. How do I know what is the latest DomU OS Image certified by Exadata Cloud dev team?

  4. How do I know what DomU OS Image version is available to apply in my Cloud environment?

  5. If my Cloud UI does not show the latest certified version available, how can I request it? or I see that higher version is available in Doc ID 2333222.1 than what I see in my Cloud UI, how can I request this latest version?
