EL Expressions Not Hiding Icons Based On Job Role (Doc ID 2606737.1)

Symptoms

We are attempting to hide icons on the springboard based on job roles using EL Expressions.
However, the below expression is resulting in no changes to the springboard. Additionally, adding it to an existing expression does nothing.

This results in users seeing items that they should not be seeing, creating potential security issues and unnecessary help desk tickets.
